My La Quinta Hotels Experience
My wife and I have stayed at La Quinta Hotels twice. This may not make me an expert, but perhaps we are more like the average traveler and we do not travel as frequently as a business traveler of the more well to do people who take vacations and holidays frequently. The first of our visit to La Quinta Hotels was actually during my family days leave from Fort Benning Georgia where I was training to be an infantry soldier in 1990. All of us in my unit received a 24 hour pass to spend time with our family and friends if they had come to Columbus Georgia. My wife made reservations for our La Quinta Hotels stay based on the proximity to the military base and what fit in our budget as enlisted E-3 soldier which at that time was not much money. My wife brought our first child who was eleven months old and my wife was 3 months pregnant with our second daughter. Since we only had twenty four hours we checked into the La Quinta Hotels and then walked across the street for dinner. After dinner we returned to our room (we did not budget for one of their lovely suites) and we stayed in the motel room for the rest of the evening. We loved the accommodations and the service and friendly staff. Our only complaint was that the La Quinta Hotels in Columbus Georgia was full of young military soldiers on leave and they drank a lot and made alot of noise until 2 am. My only advice in evaluating your choice of La Quinta Hotels is to avoid areas near military bases and universities or other places that large numbers of young adults may be having parties late into the night.
Our second stay at La Quinta Hotels was an anniversary get away in Charleston SC. We had found a baby sitter for our many children and had 24 hours to ourselves. This time there was no rowdy drinking service members and it was a very quiet stay. The La Quinta Hotels was very close to the interstate but it was well built and well insulated and we were not bothered by any traffic sounds. The pool was not open because of the season and the room we stayed in need some minor repairs and paint, but it was clean and again the staff was courteous.
Making the most of your La Quinta Hotels Visit
If you are traveling in an area that has La Quinta Hotels I would recommend it as mid level motel or inn. They are not high class and most of the locations far exceed a budget motel stay. Plan ahead and see if there will be a large event in the area that may make the stay noisy. Ask about discounts and if you have the chance definitely upgrade to one of their fine suites especially the jacuzzi suite if you are having a romantic getaway.
